WESTERN CAUCUS COLLEGE

This week the second cohort of the Western Caucus college completed their first half of the program. The group gained an in-depth overview of NEPA on Wednesday the Endangered Species Act on Thursday.

The Western Caucus College is a four-day program that covers key western issues including the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Federal Land Management, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and more.

NEWHOUSE STATEMENT ON SCOTUS/ CLEAN POWER PLANT 2.0

Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Dan Newhouse (WA-04) issued a statement following yesterday’s Supreme Court decision to deny a stay request, allowing Clean Power Plant 2.0, the Biden Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rule, to proceed.

“…we should be unleashing American energy to reduce our reliance on foreign adversaries while reducing global emissions. As Chairman of the Western Caucus, I will continue to oppose regulatory burdens that will inflict harm on consumers and rural communities.”

Congressional Western Caucus member Rep. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) wrote a blog post about the environmental impacts of the border crisis under the current administration and talked about his work with Western Caucus Vice Chair and House Natural Resources Committee (HNR) Chairman Bruce Westerman (AR-04) and the Committee to introduce the Federal Lands Amplified Security for the Homeland (FLASH) Act.
