WEEKLY UPDATE ON WESTERN CAUCUS MEMBERS TAKING ACTION FOR RURAL AMERICA

AMERICA IS ENDING HER TOXIC RELATIONSHIP WITH ESA OVERREACH đź’”

Valentine’s Day is usually about love, but it’s time for breakup. The Western Caucus is prioritizing correcting the outdated and abusive Endangered Species Act (ESA) listing of the gray wolf.

In the Congressional Western Caucus’ “Branded Blog,” Vice Chair Tom Tiffany (WI-07) lays out exactly why it’s time to move on.

The gray wolf was meant to be a conservation success story, and by all measures, it is—yet activist judges and radical environmental groups refuse to let go. Despite populations soaring well beyond recovery goals, court rulings have repeatedly blocked efforts to delist the species, keeping rural communities stuck in a toxic relationship with ineffective federal overreach.

That’s why Tiffany and Representative Lauren Boebert (CO-04) introduced the Pet and Livestock Protection Act—to finally cut ties with the ESA listing, return wolf management to the states, and ensure science-based decisions aren’t overturned by ideological agendas.

It’s time to say goodbye to outdated policies and hello to common-sense wildlife management. This Valentine’s Day, let’s break up with bad policy and show some love for rural America!

HEAD OVER BOOTS FOR ENERGY IN RECONCILIATION

While we’re ending our relationship with ESA abuses, we’re fully enamored with the Senate’s bold budget plan that puts energy independence at the forefront.

Senate Republicans are driving forward with a plan to expand American energy, strengthen national security, and eliminate burdensome regulations like the EPA’s methane fee. Under Sen. Lindsey Graham’s leadership, Republicans pushed back against wasteful spending and extreme climate policies proposed by Democrats.

CHAIR LaMALFA CONGRATULATES SECRETARY ROLLINS

Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Doug LaMalfa (CA-01) congratulated Secretary Brooke Rollins on her confirmation as the new Secretary of Agriculture.

“Senate confirmation of Brooke Rollins as Secretary of Agriculture is great news for America’s farmers and ranchers… The Congressional Western Caucus looks forward to working with Secretary Rollins to support our great American agriculture industry.”

“…A lifelong champion for Wyoming’s outdoors, Brian has worked closely with hunters, anglers, landowners, and conservationists to strike a balance between wildlife preservation and public access. His leadership and dedication make him the right person for this role, and I look forward to his swift confirmation.”
